The forms of joint connect bones. Joints give the help and support to help us move. An injury or disease can damage the joints form thus affecting our movement and creating a lot of pain. These injury and disease can affect our ligaments, tendons, or bursa that surrounds the joint. Ligaments, bones, and cartilage within the joint can also be affected by injury. Joint pain can also cause by diseases such as joint inflammation (arthritis), tumor, and infections. Age is also the cause of joints pain. It is common for older people to feel joints pain. Joints pain ranges from mildly irritating to extremely painful. An acute joint pain usually last for a couple of weeks, while chronic joint pains can last for weeks and even months. It is important for you to recognize what are the causes and symptoms of joint pain so you can get immediate treatment.
There are several stuffs that we often use in daily life activities we don't know can trigger the symptoms of joint pain. First, smart phone is one of the common causes of joint pain. We seem to use our thumbs the most in operating smart phone, from texting to playing games. Some people often use their smart phones in most times of their days and doctors have shown that there is increasing cases of arthritis at the base of the thumb, especially in younger people. Second, driving is one of the causes of joint pain. Wrong driving position can put us in higher risk of joint pain injury. Third, baby can also cause you a joint pain. Lifting a little baby seems to be simple and safe act but can actually cause an injury called Quervain’s tenosynovitis. Quervain’s tenosynovitis is a swelling and pain in the thumb and wrist that are caused by a repetitive stress injury. Another cause of joint pain is sleeping habit. Wrong posture while sleeping can create muscle strain and joint pain. Stress also plays a part in causing joint pain. The stress itself doesn’t affect joint form, but actions caused by stress do. Maybe you don't realize, but we usually tighten our back muscle or grinding our teeth when we are anxious and this action can cause a chronic back pain.
There are several symptoms of joint pain. The first one is joint stiffness. Joint stiffness is the difficulty of moving joints. People who suffer from arthritis generally have joint stiffness. The other symptom of joint pain is swollen joints. Swollen joint is the condition where the joint is becoming larger, typically caused by injury or inflammatory process to the joint or its’ surrounding. The symptoms of swollen joints are pain, redness, warmth, and stiffness.
